This is a picture of the 6 cylinder Atlas Imperial diesel engine that the Florida Flywheelers acquired. They are supposed to be moving it today to the show grounds.

Impressive little engine! Glad to see it has a new home and won't end up at a salvage yard.

The salvage yard is exactly what it was saved from. If the Florida Flywheeler's didn't take it the scrap man was going to be called.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for sharing the Atlas pictures with us. I would hope you have the opportunity to capture more pictures to document the restoration progress and post them here on SmokStak. Thanks in advance for those who have the time and talent to rescue, preserve and restore this giant engine for everyone to enjoy at Flywheelers Park.
