I found this engine on my property & have been searching for over a year & have been unable to determine who made it. The only markings are some casting numbers.
Some parts are missing, I guess it was parted out due to a broken crank.
One push rod operates both valves.
It may have been an orange colour at one time.

I believe this is a Kneeland engine built in Michigan. I and a friend had one that was missing most of its small parts. There was a nice complete one I believe in Austrailia. If you search the gas engine forum you should be able to find the thread on it.

Kevin you nailed it it is a Kneeland engine, thank you so much.
You've ended my 18 month search for the ID of the engine. Now if only I had all the missing parts.
I will have to go back out in the pasture in the spring & search for any parts that may be there. I may need a metal detector if the grass has grown over them.

I meant to add a link to the other thread that Kevin mentioned.

Yay for finding the make of this little gem! Wish I could find something like that on my property. Will be a fun project I'm sure. Good luck!
