Simplex and J. Kratky information request

I am the owner of an old Czech J. Kratky 6 hp engine. On an Czech website I found some pictures of a Simplex engine. I was surprised, they look similar in every detail.

I think in past there were some engine connections between Great Britain and Czech. The Lister engines are similar like the Slavia engines.

So my question is: Can anyone tell me the history of the Simplex engines. And maybe someone has some information about J. Kratky. And what engine is older? I don't have any information about Simplex or J. Kratky

I think of just cleaning the engine, and not painting it.
