Default Kohler Confident 5

Hello,
I have this Confident 5 installed in my RV, its a 1991 model and runs great for about 8-10 hours, then I must replace the spark plugs. I'm new to the propane generator world and unsure what color the plugs should be on a propane generator. When I install new plugs she runs like a champ. When it fails I notice the propane line is iced over ( line closest to generator fuel entrance). It sounds like I'm burning up plugs, what can cause this?
WHen it starts to fail, it backfires, idles down and eventually shuts down. Sounds like it's starving for fuel. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Thank you,
Mike
