Default Chevy K2500 tailgate hinge replacement

I recently had to replace some of the tailgate hinge components on my 1993 Chevy K2500.
This model uses the one-bolt hinge segment on the tailgate itself. You'd think it would be easy, but the end opposite the bolt is plug welded in place. I googled around for solutions, but found none that I liked. I came up with my own, which, I think is better.
