Exclamation 5 HP Briggs off pressure washer Seized up...

Helloz everyone. My newest project is a somewhat new 5 HP Briggs off a Coleman Powermate pressure washer. It sat outside for about 3 years with no plug in the head, so it's completely seized up. What can I do to bring it back to life? I poured some Marvel Mystery oil down the cylinder and cleaned up the valves best i could... but what more can I do??

Do a search of the archives here for "unsticking, unsiezing, piston removal, stuck engine, electrolysis" etc...
There's lots of good stuff that I won't bother to repeat. Suffice to say that your best allies are, "Heat, torque, impact, chemicals, electrolysis," and I might add, "time". Don't get in a hurry.

Does the engine have a cast iron cylinder liner? Iron rings in an iron clynder will likely come loose with your favorite penetrating solution, time and some effort. Iron rings rusted in an aluminum cylinder can be pretty tough to break free.

The people who take the spark plugs out of engines before leaving them to sit out in the weather deserve a special place in Heck when they leave this Earth.

Oh, I hope that wasn't you who left the plug out, Scandia!

PB Blaster, with some small brass brushes. Get the bore nice and clean.

Please tear the engine down and clean the rust ridge from the cylinder so that you do not eat up the rings in short order.

You will probably have to free the rings on the piston as well. I would replace them as a matter of course in the rebuild.
