Well, I have one, at least that. Apparently though, they must be extinct, I cannot find a lick of information re: McGraw-Edison, Onan Tag-A-Long 1000K, Generator Mod.# 1.0 KJ-1P/1A. Any chance anyone here could shed a little light?

Travis, I have a parts manual for the KJ 1000 in pdf. form & a service manual for the K series genearator (8.5 MB) that might help. Could you "shed some light" on where it could be sent? Post or PM an email address.

Although the OP never uploaded photos of his K1000, attached are some photos of mine. Just picked it up yesterday--original owner says they probably didn't run it but five hours. I'm in the same predicament as the OP--need owners and service manuals. I've determined that I'm looking for 981-0504 the Onan K-series service manual. Can't seems to find an owners manual to save my life. It's like these things never existed.

Looks to be in like new condition.

There`s a K450 on CL near me (sort of...), $50/obo. Seller doesn`t know anything except it turns over. Looks to be in good shape. Are these units 2 or 4 stroke? Parts still available? Are they noisy? I`m thinking might be nice for running a 300W worklight or battery charging. Something like this in 12v only would be real handy...

hello. new to the forum. googled the onan K1000 I have one that has been on the shelf for a decade. in excellent shape. was my dad's...anyway I have the operator's manual and parts list.

Hi I am new to the group and have a Tag-Along K1000 that I purchased a couple of years ago. The unit had not been run in several years and had lots of rust in the gas tank. This past weekend I was able to get it to actually run and make power with a little coaxing and feeding the fuel from an external tank. I actually had it running for abt a half hour. I would like to get a copy of any manuals that might be available for the unit so that I can get it running with the factory settings as opposed to my seat of the pants settings.

Mine still runs like a top....I probably use it 4 or 5 times a year....camping, tailgating, etc. Not enough power to use for backup for power outages, except for some lights, but that's what I have the big generator ( 9.5 kw ) for.

I never got the manual with it...got it used from a buddy of mine who used it on a service truck. i think it had about 5 hours use on it - paid 75 bucks - and NO regrets !

Would love to get the manual for it !
