Default ID Help Please!

This was in use as an arbor with wheel on each side, and may go back to being one. Maybe steam, belt driven aux??? All brass, 10" tall, 5 1/2' base, 3/4" bore upper horizontal shaft bores, oil supply holes for journals. Looks like a small shaft might have come in from outside lower leg, geared to vertical shaft to the top, driving a horizontal shaft and maybe some intermediate rotating something about halfway up (looks like a gear pin beside the hole). Bolted firmly to a base. Couple of rollers on base, either side of legs. Looks like "LM-24-N" cast in leg and "X" on fdn, both raised. "78829-1" stamped on base.
Anyone have a clue or care to make a guess

Photo may be too big. Does your editor have something to change the size - like from photo size to e-mail or web?
