You need a Sumter No. 12 used till Sr.No. 244068, 244068 threw 261 446 used a No. 22 ( C. H. Wendel ) This is just a small alternator that the ignitor shorts out to make the spark. Tom

Default Fairbanks Morse 3HP Z mag ID

I see this mag on Ebay, listing number:190683579147
Looks like what I need for my 1916 mdl Z 3HP with ignitor!
Would appreciate it if someone could confirm if this is, or not, the mag my motor uses! Need to make a bid ASAP if I want it!
THANK YOU

what you need is a sumpter plugoscilator or a sumpter #12 gear drive mag. both are low tension, meaning they are used with an ignitor. skip

I have a headless Z engine with an ignitor. First ignitor engine I have ever had. Could somebody point me in the direction of a good dicussion regarding what is an ignitor? How is it "better" than a spark plug and how do you maintain it...or at least tune it so it gives maximum ignition.
Thank you
