Looks like it could be a fun sized model if it is built right and been cared for. Not a bad price either. Unless it has documentation it would never be allowed to run in NY and some other states as its too big to fall into the model class.
Interesting. Thanks for posting it.

Did he say if it had been inspected before?

By the depth to which it seems to have sunk, the picture suggest to me it has been setting there some time. Any indications of how long? Thanks.....PD

I went and looked at it today. It was steamed about a year and half ago, The Governor and the oiler are the only two thing that he did not make, It was completely built from parts around the farm, the boiler was all welded together, as well as the wheels.
I said thanks and passed.
I did get a real nice BIG steam whistle from him though.

Nothing wrong with a welded boiler. If he used proper thickness and the stay configuration is good along with stress relief this is a cheap toy.

BuckeyeMan - You didn't happen to get any measurements of things or a few extra snapshots did you?

AND - Is that a devil's head on the front door?

Can't see it very clearly in the Craigslist pics, but it kinda looks like the one on the penny fortune teller machine in the restaurant booth in the episode of the Twilight Zone "Nick of Time"!

It should be listed on Stak---if they really want steam people to look at it and talk about it.

Hi all, I purchased this engine this past Thursday. Got it home, and steamed it up the next day! It runs very smooth, but has its fair share of problems of course, but that's to be expected! Needs updated plumbing, and timed and a few other odds and ends. Maybe a bigger whistle too! I have grown up on engines my whole life, but this is MY first engine and I am extremely excited about owning it! I will try and post a link to the video of me and my cousin A.J running it.
