Default EBay Account Suspention Spoof Email

I recently received an email messaged that on the surface appeared to be legitement. I stated that my ebay account was suspended because I impersonated someone else's user name. This message had a link to a web page asking me to authenticate my account information. This message had all of the ebay logos and copywrite notices. The only problem is that IT IS BOGUS!! I forwared the message intact to ebay's investigation unit at spoof@ebay.com where they replied it was not generated by ebay eventhough it had ebay.com as part of the address. So be cautious!! If you get one do not go to the links provided or provide any information about your account. Fortunatly ebay does not reveal credit card information simply by logging into your account.

O.K. now I learn something new. I also ran into an e-Bay spoof, and beat it.I also reported it to e-Bay. e-Bay sent me something that stated something like "it needs to come from e-Bay.com, if it comes from eBay.com it is legitimate." They also stated that someone would someday come up with a way to beat it. I guess they did.

I also got it and reported it, but not before my curiosity got the best of me so I entered my "user Name" UBEENHAD and my "password" HAHAHAHA and hit submit and all I got was a click indicating that it had been sent somewhere but nothing else came up nor was I forwarded to another site, evidently all that happens is your information is sent to someone so they can use it. And I did get a return message from E-bay saying of course it was not legit, Wait till those buffoons try to use that user name and password
