Default Hello from Florida!

Hello ladies and gents, My name is Mark Jackson and I am from Vero Beach Florida. Let me tell you a little about myself, I am a 39yr old automotive technitian for mopar and I have been an avid tinkerer for years with little odds and ends here and there. I have grown very fond of the earlier "L" head briggs and stratton engines and I am sad to see them starting to dissappear . I have a few of them that I plan on keeping going for a little while longer (mainly cause of their sentinmental value).
The first one is a 1972 Golden boy egder, belonged to my dad. Second one is a 1963 Zeus Generator also belonged to my father but was passed down to him from my grandfather. I have a few other older units that I am fond of but they arent directly linked to my family. And they are : 1983 snapper 21 inch walk behind mower and a 1978 Snapper RER. Both of the snappers run like new, I acquired the rider on this past fathers day as a present. I had fond memories of my fathers snapper rider like it and have always wanted one since. His was a 1966 snapper RER, I tried finding one of those but thats nearly impossible so i settled on the 1978 verison.. Suits me just fine..hehe..
I am currently working on freshening up the Zeus generator,
it has never ever been apart as far as i can tell...I am having some issues finding a few items and was wondering if anyone may be able to assist me on it. The model is 080702/type is 944255/code is 6304035.... I am looking for a set of rings for it...i found a gasket set for it ans a carb rebuild kit but no luck on the rings...and help would be helpful.

Sincerely,

Mark A Jackson

Thank you John, I did have some luck with finding a set of rings for the generator ...As it turns out, I contacted a man by the name of Charles Stuart and he is a guy who is on the briggs and stratton obsolete parts contacts list. I contacted him and he was kind enough to assist me in finding the parts i needed to bring this old generator back to life. The rings part number is a 294232 and they sell for 19.00. The lower crank seal number is 391483 and it sells for 3.00... everything else in the rebuild is available so I am very pleased.

Mr. Stuart was also kind enough to email me pictures of his museum collection.. I would like to post them up on here but I would like to get his permission first.

Mark
