Default Hello from Long Island, New York

Hi everyone, just wanted to take a moment to get started here on the 'Stak! I am a life-long motorhead and fabricator, I'm sure just like many here. Most weekends I can be found at the Engine Barn of the Long Island Antique Power Association. We have a vast range of engines we are currently working on and many awaiting their turn. So many engines, so little time!

Hope to meet many of you at the shows. I met my new friend Ron Fielder at the Windy City in June. (Hope the see you at the Fall show Brother!)
Best Regards,
Mike

I meant to say Rod Fielder.... sorry 'bout that.

Welcome! Your engine barn sounds real neat. I don't know anyone from the Isle of Long, but I've read a lot of Dan Holohan's books. He's from there and has written a LOT about steam and hydronics as it pertains to heating. Talk about some antique equipment, there are steam boilers in service that are 100 years old!
He's a regular columnist in some trade magazines like Plumbing and Mechanical, and has a website called www.heatinghelp.com
Enjoy the 'stak Mike!

Thank you everyone for the welcome! Kevin I have not heard of Dan but I'm sure some of our members have. We have several steam pieces including some Buffalo Springfield rollers. I am currently looking into a corliss unit to see if it is salvagable. The main focus has been the 50 hp Otto diesel that we are real close to rolling soon. Its the same unit as they have in Coolspring, just a few s/n's difference. I will try to post a few pics in the future.
