Default New guy from Kansas

Good morning, new from Kansas. Don't have an engine yet but always had a facination with H/M engines. Shopping around right now and will be looking at a Monitor this weekend. I do know a few people who have this hobby and I'm always interested in old equipment. I farm and this is right up my alley.

Welcome to the Stak Carl !! I see you are from Galesburg....... hometown of the 'Shaw'. OldProff is correct... these things are like potato chips... ya can't have just one!

Beware.... they are very infectious!

Yep, home of Shaw Mfg. I've done some homework and will be looking around the area. The Monitor is near by and I can come up with a pump. Found a F/M listed in KC I'd like to see too, I've a belt driven saw it could operate.

Wink Re: New guy from Kansas

Hi, I am Big Doug, living in Overland Park, Ks. I am a retired mechanical engineer. I like diesel engines, both normally aspirated as well as Turbocharged. I have several normally aspirated one cylinder diesels connected to tillers and plows, plus a two cylinder Yanmar diesel tractor of 13.5 hp.
My rolling stock consists of a Ford Turbo Diesel pickup, 2- Mercedes turbo Diesel sedans, and a VW Jetta TDI Sportwagon. My present activities are gardening for food, and landscaping after the city widened the two streets adjacent to my home. In my spare time, I am involved with restoration of a 90 year old Reuter Pipe Organ, and I am part time organist at church.
