Thats a nice little markup on junk. Buy at $180.00, sell for $450.00
I'm guessing they really don't want to sell to individuals, but if your willing to pay the price, a little cash in the pocket goes a long way.

Two to three times cost of scrap is somewhat normal when I've bought. You don't have a great deal to lose, if it's really bad sell a few parts the sell the rest back. Ken

I saved it from the scrapper.

It's a 5.0CCK-1R/6000P ser#72447268.

The sheet metal is beat up some but unless I find a major problem, I'm going to try and resurect it.

I found the PARTS 927-0220 and ENGINE 927-0754 manuals,

Does anyone have a service manual for the Gen Head 927-0500?

Thanks

Looks like a single cylinder engine.

I'm not much of an Onan guy, but I didn't know they made a single cylinder genset called a 5.0CCK.

I think the other cylinder is in the mud. If you follow the muffler down to where it hits the dirt, there is another pipe welded on to it.

Not knowing what spec. it is, I can not say for sure, but the UN generator manual available at the top of the forum covers most of the older RV sets.

I was at a junkyard one day. Saw them crush an old Studebaker. The guy was making a joke about it. Until I pulled out my book and showed him . What he had just crushed was worth. I thought he was going to be sick on the spot.

Does anyone know the Gen Head service manual # I need? This is the round head, not the square UN head
Turns out the 927-0500 I asked for earlier only covers spec A thru K and the wiring diagram dont match. I need spec P.

What is the purpose of the 2 condensors that are connected to the brushes?
(maybe noise supression)
There is a .5 mfd on the commutator and a .1 mfd on the slip rings. The .1 is blown apart.

The UN manual and the 927-0500 are the only manuals I know of for the CCK. Your round generator head should be the same as the one in the 927-0500 manual. Your control system may be different. I will send you some schematics I have for the CCK. One of them may be what you have.

The capacitors were for noise suppression. The generator can run without them.
