Default 1/34hp little jumbo ignitor conversion

Hi Guys, Iv'e been pondering over converting my little jumbo engine from a spark plug firing type ignition (which it is now) to an ignitor firing engine. I have an ignitor but since I'm totally new to these engines I cannot proceed without some of your help. My engine has a wooden buzz coil hooked to the plug and runs fine this way but I would love to see it run with an ignitor system also. Can I use my wooden coil for the spark ignition or do I have to use another magneto style? Please reply with some expertise of yours. Thanks.

Hi Gary

If you are going to make the change from spark plug to an ignitor? Yes, you will have to change to a low tension coil and battery. Unless you have a magneto with the ignitor bracket. You may want to check out the archives under; low tension ignition or ignitors. The system will be the same on all engines, except for the opperating linkage. Best of luck Bob

was this an ignitor engine, with a spark plug added later, or a spark plug engine from the factory?
