Well it’s January 1, 2013 and the new engine show year has begun. Weather permitting
, I'll be at the Show Show with somethings to display, 8:00am-5:00pm (+/-), snow or shine. Make sure you are dressed warmly for the weather . There will be a few Gas Engine and other displays on the grounds. Be sure to bring an empty soup can and get some free, HOT(gloves work well for the can), Hobo Stew . There is other food available on the grounds. Come out and enjoy the fun by the bonfire with other friendly collectors and visitors looking for something to do on a Saturday (19th) in January.Get directions and show history on their WEB site at www.Jacktown.org Future Weather forecast predictions are at least, a bit sketchy, with grey skies and cold temperatures, but It’s a Snow Show . Let's see how I feel in the next week or so...... HAPPY NEW YEAR to ALL....

I'm gonna try to make it this year, barring weather conditions. At least there is no conflict with cabin fever expo this year.

I've heard the name, but never dreamed it was a snow show! The soup can/gloves/free hobo stew gig sounds wonderful. I hope the wind isn't blowing and the sun is shining on you all!

Yes, I'm OK, now, after my first bout with KIDNEY STONES
that screwed me up for a few weeks over Christmas/New Years. Seems the body doesn't like the associated excruciating pain (me either), and some of the other normal bodily functions go a bit haywire . Just a visit to the ER twice (ever try to get a doctor over the Holidays ?) the PCP 3 times, the Urologist twice, X-rays, CT scans, more drugs (6) to help things get resolved, and eliminate infection, no sleep, etc.... Been OK (stones gone) for a few days, and only on one pill. I've been told to DRINK, DRINK, DRINK LOT's of water to prevent them in the future. I wonder if "ROD" juice would help.... . THANKS for asking

My son and I made the 100 mile trip up to the show, which was packed with people after the HOBO Stew. Even though there was snow on the ground , there were a lot of vendors with stuff to buy (I passed on the Winchester Cannon at $850
). I think I spent all of $10 and half of that was a donation for the HOBO Stew and Hot Dogs. We spent a few hours checking things out and just ing with a few STAKERS and other friends I've made over the years. It was worth the trip just to see them. Here are a few photos of the day at www.Jacktown.org .

My first grade teacher had 9 child births, and she had stones too. (unrelated to the deliveries )She said she'd rather deliver a child any day than have another stone. It must be some kinda pain! |

Well, it was great seeing you guys around yesterday. I didn't get off as lightly as you, Paul. There was a steam toy there I just couldn't allow to go back home. It cost me an arm and a leg, so now I have to look for a new arm. I already had an extra leg at home.
![]() Ya know firewoodguy if we could assure all days would be like yesterday it wouldn't be bad, but then there was last year and then a few years ago when we started at minus 5 degrees. One of those at a time is enough. See you all in May, Alan |

Snow show was a big hit! Weather started out cold, but warmed up a bit. I had people buying stuff, before I could even get it off the trailer! People came running with flashlights (we got there at 6:00 AM), and were trying to get stuff off even before I could get the truck parked!
Had a good day.Andrew |
