Default A.J. Lindermann & Hoverson Co. ANCHOR TORCH

While wandering the aisles at a local Flea Market this week, I came upon this late 1800, early 1900”s A.J. Lindemann and Hoverson Co., Anchor Torch, made in Milwaukee Wis. I saw one like it at the Coolspring show a few years ago so I knew what it was. After some fierce price negotiations , I got it. The dual knobs on it control the flow of fuel and the height of the flame. It stands 32" tall and 13" over to the burner with a 10” fuel container on top. The last photo shows a HEMMLER Bros. DUQUESNE TORCH I have, made in Pittsburg, Pa... This one is a bit bigger at 36” tall and 18” out to the burner. They are sure neat additions in my collection of “OTHER” neat stuff to have . Will I ever “burn them” with their large open flames, probably not , but it sure would look good outdoors next to a running engine at night .

Goodday I also have two of these lamps--I lit them up with both gasoline & kerosene & the light was about the same--this was done outdoors because of the possibility of of a BIG problem!!!
Here is a composite photo of one lit & not. The maker of this one is E.T.Wright of Hamilton,Ontario Larry

Some friends at the Temple, Tx show have one of those and burn it at night during our light show. They are very neat indeed. Put some fuel in it and light it up you will like it.
