I am trying to get this generator up and running again. The generator is not making A/C so the engine will stall when the start button is released. The oil pressure switch is working, the rectifier bridge is ok, and the rotor and brushes test correctly at 10 ohms. I started checking the stator with my Fluke DMM which has a low ohm scale and the b1 and b2 windings check out but the workshop manual has no resistance test for s1 and S2 winding leads which power the field coil through the rectifier bridge and the current transformer.
If I look at a spec d and higher manual they call out 2 ohms for this winding. I am only getting .25ohms taking the test lead resistance out of the reading. I called a rebuilder in California who said this should be higher. I just wanted to ask if anyone has run into this before. I have the stator out and it looks good.

I didn't know if you had the service manual.

Flight Systems has a good trouble shooting chart for these units available for free download at their site.

Thanks for your help. I do have the correct manual and have reviewed the diagnostic help from Flight systems. I guess I will send the stator out for rewinding. Hopefully the guy will check it out prior to stripping it
Down and rebuilding.
