Default canadaian made essex engine

I have a 1 3/4 HP Essex engine model T SER# 5964 how can I date it ?

Hi ! I don't think you'll be able to date it exactly either. If it's got a Canadian Essex tag on it, it's likely a Nelson Brothers engine. Any pics ?
