Default Fairmont Twin Buzz Coil

I have a railroad motorcar with a Fairmont RKB twin cylinder 2 cycle engine. these cars used a metal case buzz coil with 2 sparkplug connections that were on insulators and the other connections were studs that came through the metal side of the coil. At a Northern California swap meet, one of the local motorcar folks bought 3 coils like the Fairmont ones only the primary connections were 2 wires sticking out of the coil. They were military surplus. Has anyone seen these surplus coils or have any idea where they might be obtained or what they were used for?
