Default high temp filler?

What's a good high temp filler for CI? Engine will operate about 250deg. I'm worried the hot/cold cylce would crack body filler.

I think a metal filled, two part epoxy putty will work. Devcon makes the original "Plastic Steel"-putty, as well as Aluminum putty, bronze putty, stainless steel putty and titanium putty. Liquid versions of steel and aluminum are available. They are sold by many industrial distributors and catalogue houses. Call Devcon at 800-343-7026 for spec. sheets/cataloge/distributors in your area.

After careful thinking, and checking some old repairs, the product you want for this job is called AllWeld, made by Forney Industrys. It is rated for 500 degrees, and outperforms Devcon and JB weld in a lot of ways, including the price. It seems to be turning up in a lot of stores from NAPA to farm CoOps, selling for around 4 bucks. Even comes with easy to read and understand instructions. Remember to wet your hands before kneading it together, or you will wear it on your hands for a week. Sorry, they don't show any web site on the label.

Lab metal works good.Has many uses. the regular formula is good from -30 to+ 350F there is also a Hi temp. stuff is a paste that can be thinned to the point that it can be sprayed or brushed. You can get it from a welding shop. works on metal, glass, plastic ect.Bobrr
