Original paint ,I have some of the stuff


Hi all, I have the white lead soft paste.The label says88% lead pure linseed oil 10% turpentine...

Default Original paint ,I have some of the stuff

Hi all, I have the white lead soft paste.The label says88% lead pure linseed oil 10% turpentine 2%.The directions are rusty on the can for mixing but it shows 1/2 linseed oil 1/2 white lead.How do I color it and mix it up?I want to make Mogul green and M IHC green.Thanks Rob

Black would be easy, just clean out the base of an oilburning furnace stack and grind the stuff up, after screaning out the leaf crap. Other colors should be obtainable from a real paint store, if you can find one with an employee who knows somethig beyond I wuz in electronics department yesterday. Oil based paint still exists, and is used regularly in industry, and coloring pigments are available for it. My thinking is the drier agent will be the hardest to come by. Simplest thing would be to spend some time with a search engine, that's how I found the Titanic site.

Hi,Japan Drier is still available.I went to the local Sherwin williams store all they said was duh!!!! I will look on the search engine and see what I can find.Rob
