Default Paint Gun

I have a Binks Model 62 cup gun that I would like to set up to spray automotive paint. Does anyone know what aircap, tip and needle would be ideal for this gun? Would I be better off buying a newer, gravity feed gun? Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Unless you are planning to spray the same paint we had when that gun was made, you'll be much better off investing in a new gravity gun. The old guns simply do not atomize new automotive paints small enough for decent results.

Any recommendations for a good Gravity feed gun?

I am no painter but got by with an old spray gun. I saw a very inexpensive pressure cup HVLP gun at a logging show last year and bought it. It works great and uses a lot less paint than my old one. The overspray with HVLP is much less. I have used Centari and urethane type automotive paints. The urethanes are far superior in ease of use, finish, and durability, but more dangerous to use. Don't ever use them without doing your safety homework first. A top quality, tight fitting respirator is a must for any paint.
