Priming Cast Iron???


Is it necessary to prime Cast Iron before putting paint on it or just strip to bare Cast and Paint....

Default Priming Cast Iron???

Is it necessary to prime Cast Iron before putting paint on it or just strip to bare Cast and Paint. Open to suggestions on this.

I use phosphoric acid. Brush it on, wipe it off. Let it dry and it's ready for a few coats of oil base paint.

I found if you degrease thoroughly, and use a good self leveling primer - should come out fine. I use Krylon grey self leveling.
