Default rust paint

About a year ago I saw one of those "do it yourself" shows. They were painting kitchen cabinets using a two-phase painting process. As a result the cabinets looked like rusted steel. I recall there were actually metal flecks in the paint. I've searched for the product but have come up empty. I'm an artist and want to make models for my large exterior steel pieces look as close to the real thing as possible without actually being fabricated out of steel. Where can I buy this paint?

Why not just take a piece of rusty steel, scrape off the rust, and mix the rust into some varnish?

Actually there are several products available. Some even a single step process.

If you have a well stocked hobby shop near you (not the usuall small ones, but the shops that are almost the size of a supermarket. They should have some of the products.

Otherwise, try www.walthers.com

It is a model railroad supply house that usually is well stocked a number of good products.

"Rust-It" is one, I think "Metal Master" makes another. There are a number of other manufacturers out there of these items.
