Can anybody tell me if sandblasting old tractor sheetmetal (hoods ,cowls side panels)with silica sand warp the metal.Ive been told that it warps thin metal but will it warp these parts, there not that thin! Thanks, Dave p.s. This would be done with a big blasting outfit.

YES Sandblasting involves a lot of energy transferr that becomes heat in the struck surface, and even tractor panels will warp when hit by sand. They won't warp as quickly as an automotive panel, but they will warp. ALSO, I strongly suggest using Black Beauty over silica sand, more cutting for the buck, and no chance of silica related lung problems.
