Do you know if that equipment is still sitting there, or did the BLM shove it all into the mine?

As far as I know, it's still there at Kennebec Pass - Columbus Mine. I had a young fellow reply to me here on the internet, "that it was his grandfather's property and I was to keep out!"

There are many other sites like that in Colorado. The museum at Creede has one of the best steam lifts that I have ever seen.
