I have located a Buffalo Forge 8 X 8 steam engine (no boiler). I was wondering about a ball park price for engine. It has been sitting in a barn for about 40 years now and is not stuck and complete.

generally the larger ones bring a bit less than smaller ones, and an 8 x 8 isn't exactly a lightweight. Older engines are also worth more than newer or high speed ones
If you can get it for $500 you'll probably be doing real good, Less than $1K and you're still doing OK. IMO More than that would depend on how bad you want THAT engine. |
