Can anyone verify the Model No. and approximate year this engine was built. I think it may be a Model 48. The connection on the left was added in order to run on compressed air and was done in a manner to preserve the original machine's integrity as much as possible.

weeden built that style of engine in three different models. #18, #49 and an electric model #665. they differ by the type of whistle and type of pop off. sorry i can't give you a date on them.
