Onan 15kw

I just bought an Onan 15kw Model 15.OJC-3R/28768AB Ser. # L 850790489 Anybody know what year it was made? I also need a service manual its only puting out 36 volts ac on each leg. Thanks Ed

Ed, I don't have a manual for this one, and the model does'nt seem to check out. It may be a 32 volt, but I doubt it. The SN says it was made in Jan. 85

Thanks Gus...Yes I think 1985 would be right, it's 110/220 volt four cylinder air cooled gasoline. I bought it at a State ploice auction and it was a back up for the radio tower, it's olny got 625 hours on it. But it's not been used in a few years. I found a mice nest in the gen. but I'll keep looking for the problem. I guess I'll call Onan and get a service manual Thanks Again

I just spotted this message on the net. Did you ever get a service manual? I have that same generator and all the manuals. I am looking for an enclosure cover for mine. I am planning on making an enclosure, but thought I would search for one first. That model was made around 1985. The choke on them was hard to make work properly. It has a choke heater that is slow to respond.
