Hello, I am helping a friend research information on two generators. Reputed to be from World War One. Both engines are complete and ran well when last used 25 years ago. The story is that the generators surfaced when an old wharehouse was cleaned out. Supposedly there is only a few hours on each engine. the control panel of both generators is incomplete. Discription: The Domestic Engineering Co. Dayton Ohio USA. Manufacturer of Delcolight Products. One Cylinder, air cooled engine. 4 cycle, external gauge indicates oil level in crankcase. Valve springs, rockers and push rods exposed on top of cylinder head. Cast iron base (weights a ton) Bolt on generator 120AC out put. Any one who can give me information on these generators or point me in a direction would be most appreciated. thank you. Stan Kuczynski

Try going to Frank DeWitt's generator site, from there, you can go to Delco generators, and well may find the twin to yours.

Stan; Domestic Engineering was bought out by GeneralMotors in late 1919.These plants are older than1919. From your discription you have what was known as a xray plant. These plants were used to supply AC voltage for xray machines in remote locations. The Army used them in field hospitals in WW1. Two versions of this plant was built one with a flywheel magneto and one with coil ignition. If I can be of any help on this project let me know.Dale Burkman
