We have aquired an oldish generator set with the name Kinloskan on the fuel tank. KD or KDE on the rocker covers, but apart from the cooling being provided by an external belt driven fan, it looks like a Lister SR 2.
Can anyone help to identify this unit please? There is a plate on the engine but not much in the way of I.D. Thankyou. |

I think it might say "Kirloskar". If so, it was made in India by the Kirloskar Co. and is a copy of the Lister. They also make Deutz, Faryman, Cummins, etc under license. I have found them to be decent engines, but not as well made as the original manufacturers product. Parts are supposed to be interchangeable.
