According to serial# list, it appears to be from 1972. I think that the K662 is 24HP. Kohler 662 parts are getting scarse, but Melroe at one time used the K662 in a Bobcat, and bought up a supply of parts. Melroe may have some parts in storage that can't be found anywhere else.

Gentlemen, I have a 1966 bobcat m500. I bought it with the engine blown in two. With it I recieved a fresh stock bore block and a lot of nos parts. Home free right? NO WAY! The NY state kohler distributor could only find one stock bore piston. Nothing else. No seals, rings, bearings, nothing. Bobcat has since purged thier inventory of engine parts, also. So, having restored many other things, I just chased down the guys who ball up the inventory. One guy seemed decent but was suffering health problems and the other guy, well it would have cost $3000 to rebuild the k-662, So I gave up and re-powered with a robin-subaru for $1170. I still have the parts k-662 and I also have a parts k-660(babit only-no tapered roller)power plant engine.

I've recently inherited a k-662 on a generator. Unfortunately, the valves are toast, and the magneto is busted. But the pistons/bores look great. Any chance you'd be parting out your 662, and would have such parts available?

Mine's a 662EP, spec 33111B, with a Wico XH-2062E magneto.

Give me a holler if interested. markbg@nortelnetworks.com

Cheers, Mark.

I have a Kohler Generator K662EP, Elec. plant Mod.# 7.5RMK62, Spec #33489b, Serial #336442.

It has been stored in a dry basement for around 20 years and definetely had minimal use and is very very clean.

I have not started it up. I do know that tt runs on Propane.

I was curious as to its age and value.

I have pictures for anyone interested. Please email me with questions.
Robert

I bought an engine that I think is a k662 the model tag is gone so I'm not sure. It runs perfect. I'm thinking about putting it in my jd 318 . I need to know if I should use it or if anyone out there needs it for a replacement engine like in a bobcat. I need to know what is the value of it .
Thanks,
Jerry
