Some of you may find this interesting. Appearantly back in the 30's, everyone who had an engine, wanted to generate power with it. I have an advertisment picturing an Alpha DeLaval model "VW" engine connected to a DeLaval Magnetic Milker. Delaval sold a lighting kit that took it's power from the magnetic milker pump. The caption reads,
"NOW YOU CAN HAVE PLENTY OF LIGHT WHILE YOU USE YOUR DELAVAL MAGNETIC MILKER" Emphasis on the word PLENTY! Plenty actually meant up to four 15watt, 11volt bulbs. The picture shows a large milking barn brightly light by a total of 60 watts. In all fairness, 60 watts in the barn was probably fairly bright in 1931, the date on the brochure. I found the 11 volt bulbs to be interesting, probably only available from DeLaval. Hey Gus, Ya got this one? |
