All you need to complete the system is the B-29 bomber it fits in the tail of. Seriously, you'll find a lot of discussion of those units in the first few postings on the board. It was a ground support machine that kept the batterys topped off in a B-29, and necessary systems running when the main engines were off. Among Post military uses were as standby gebnerators to keep banks of batterys charged in many municipal buildings, Civil Defense supplied the generators. By the way, you'll find the spark plug on the bottom of the unit, between the skids. It's a 2 cycle machine, and there should be a measuring cup inside the gas cap. The piston is at the bottom of the engine, not the top like you're accustomed to seeing, it was a common Homelite design in the 1950s. There are quite a few of them around, I own one myself.

1st off I would like to say thanks for a response on my subject. Also my generator is missing the carb and fuel tank. If any one can help please respond or E-Mail me. I am very interested in some literature also (maybe a manual). The info I have received this far has been very helpful, thanks.

Franz, I know no other way to contact you, but I went and looked between the skids and there was not a sparkplug. Also there is a head on top of the motor, but there is a cable that runs into the top of it with fittings on it in which I removed. This is actually a wire that is weatherproofed. The fitting slips in and tightens to something else that looks as if it acts as a sparkplug.I am aching for some more help here.As posted I also need the carb and fuel tank. Any help will be greatly appreciated.Maybe if you could E-mail me a picture of yours I could try and compare them.

Hi. I just obtained a homelite unit exactly like you describe except it doesn't have the regulator on it. Did you ever find more information on this unit? Would you be interested in photos of mine to compare--I know I would like to see another unit to see what it's like. Thanks. J Park jpark@gtec.com
