Default Kohler Light Plant

I have a Kohler Model K 2 K.W it runs great but does not put out any power. I want to check the brushes but can not get the large cover off.I removed the 4 screws in the middle of the cover but there seems to be something else holding it on. Any help would be appreciated,Im knew to these and need all the help I can get. What would be other things I should check to get this thing to produce electricity? Thanks in advance,Craig.

Hi if the shsft comes though the houseing you may have to remove the nut. Sometimes if you get at the edge you can pry it off.

Have a nice day
