ONAN 30KW
Bought an onan 1968 30kw 3 phase gen today. It has a 240 cu in Ford motor, gasoline and natural gas. This was an auxialry unit at the local hospital. It was in working order when removed 2 weeks ago, has 525 hrs on it. It has the auto switch panel and the timer that runs it once a week. Are these units safe with modern electronics, computers, tvs, and microwaves? Thanks, J.B.

Some people really get lucky!
The hospital most likely ran their electronic equipment on it. All you need is a good transfer switch, a frequency meter and don't get your phases mixed up. Do lots of testing first! |
