Default Fairbanks-Morse/Onan light plant.

Well, here I am again. I just bought a Fairbanks-Morse Light plant. I got it and the two wheel trailer it is mounted on for a $50.00 bill. The friend I bought it from said that it runs and generates. The tag is missing from the generator...(@!#$%$&) There is however, a tag on top of the control box. The numbers are: Model W3S

ser. 95.229443 Embossed on the lower left side of the engine: W2C12004...but that may be a casting number.

Stan, It seems you have a knack for finding those Onans. The W3S is listed a a member of the W2C series.

Hi,

I too have recently bought a W3S, as well as a spare block, but no manual information. Do you have any documentation? Know where I can find some?
Also most covers are missing,

you will find W2C part numbers all over the unit. These wre also sold as Monkey Ward Powerlite Electric Plant units model ie 64 MX_ _ _ _ _ _ .I have a 3000 W 30 amp Unit that I am rebuilding. There are a number of postings in the old (archive) sections here on these units.
cheers

Default Fairbanks-Morse/Onan light plant.

Hi you will find some pics of my W3s on the forum from a few weeks ago, I had issues with low power output - now solved. Also posted a video onto you tube (where there are other videos of this genset !)

It may be coincidence but it seems these units might be "W2C" model number s for the 2kw out put variants and "W3S" for the 3kw variants ?

In response to one of the other posts.... an online manual for the w2c/w3s can be found at:
