Timeing on Kohler 800 Watt D.C. There are two marks on the flywheel; one marked "DC" (top dead center), and one marked "SPK". With points set at .012 to .015, Using a timing light, set distributer to where the "SPK" line flashes on top of the flywheel in line with cylinders. The engine fires at 180 degrees, so either plug wire, or distributer center wire will give the same result. Without timing light, set distributer to where points just start to open as the SPK mark comes up to the top center.
