Default What to do with Onan W3S

I have been given an old Onan engine - details below and, if I have worked my first posting correctly, some pics as well. I am not an engine collector or a hobbiest but have an interest in 'things mechanical' and after a few hours of fiddling the engine is running, and is also generating.

I intended to make use of this unexpected gift as a backup power supply (we suffer 'rural' power outages) but the engine seemed to me rather too old to be put back into service. Searching on the net to find help on diagnosing the starting problem revealed this site. After reading some posts it seems this engine might be 'too rare' to treat in this way hence my (subject) question.

Should this engine be in a museum ? Should it be used or 'mothballed' ? Should I lend it to enthusiasts for showing ? Should I sell it i.e. is it worth selling ?

Any details on history of this engine much appreciated !

Details are :

Model W3S-444 Serial no. 127.375148 Generator 325983 Gen data 5109

3KVA 50 Hz 230V 13Amps 150 Watts 12v 10 Amps (doubles as electric start)

Missing parts, fuel tank, silencer.

Faults found before it would start, bad contact underneath circuit board preventing power getting to 12V armature winding, stuck one way fuel valve on AC Delco petrol pump, fuel bowl and pipes needed cleaning.
