Default Kohler Info

Saved this from the scrapman this week. It's a single cylinder Kohler Electric Plant, the tag says Model 600CJ1 and on the line underneth 4145E. It's 28 volts at .6kw. The serial number on the tag is blank but in the frame of the generator is the number 2220#7 with the # being a number that I can't make out, maybe the bottom of a 3,5 or 8, or maybe even a "o". On the end of the generator oposite the engine was a LARGE blower that looks like it might have fed air into an incinerator or furnace. The cooling on the engine is quite unique and heavy duty. The Oil pan is oversize with two large finned heat sinks on each side of the engine block. If you look closely at the flywheel you will see that it has no air vanes for cooling and that large Squirl Cage blower that is in the picture is actualy bolted to the front of the cooling shroud and is ducted to pull in cool air from a outside source.

Any info on this would be apprciated. Year? Model of the engine? Wiring for the Gen?

Oh yea, it also uses a "aircraft" type spark plug. The engine is also stuck.

Hi Hank

The engine you show in the photo looks alot like the one i have on a 3000 watt unit that was mounted in an enclosure under a motor home. The fan on the end is to aid in cooling and the same for the fionned sump. Yoy can e-mail me if I can be of any further help.

Steve
