Default Kohler Power Plant - Parts Help?

Buying a Kohler model #6.5C67 Serial #290558. Also has a number below the model number of 5080A8/4. The unit is 120/240, liquid cooled, 1800rpm. I'm looking for parts availability / engine rebuild kit info, etc. Seems it has a Continental engine. Any info is greatly appreciated. Any toughts how old?

Have you made a positive ID that it is a Continental? Do you have any pictures?

I have a Onan with a N56 Continental and a forklift with a F163. I am semi familiar with the other Continental engines as well.

Engine parts are still availible at industrial strength auto parts, the chain stores probably don't have a clue.

Teledyne Continental will give you more help with engine manuals and parts than you can imagine. Also many older independent auto & ag parts stores, forklift dealers, and welding supply companies will have parts for your Continental. I have an Onan genset with F163 engine, had to deal separately with Teledyne & Onan but was very successful. Your challenge will be to find manuals & parts for your generator head. Again, talk to older welding supply houses if you don't have luck with Kohler.
