My wifes new 55 Chevy that we drive to engine shows when we don't take the engines. She will not let me haul anything in it so I have to make a trip home to get the truck if I find a engine for sale. Benny

Benny

I don't see what the problem is here. Put a clamp on hitch on the rear bumper and tow a small trailer.

Try to convince her of that one.

Nice car,

Jim

I asked about the trailer hitch because I have one that will bolt on but she reminded me how much it cost to have the bumpers recromed(could have bought a engine for the recroming)Thanks all for the replies and have a look at the engine.

Awe just get a blanket and tie the next engine to the roof. Won't you look cool driving down the road like that?

Nice looking A Model Joe.I had a 31 A Model several years ago and had more fun out of it than anything I have ever owned.I friend of mine that restored Model A's for a living took a 9,000 mile journey with a friend of his with his Model A and they pulled a trailer with all the spare parts and even a spare engine in case they broke down and the only thing that went bad was a condenser. He went up through Maine then the upper US to California then back the lower US he sends me a Christmas Card every year from one of the places he stopped. I've been in old cars longer than engines. 1929 Model A tudor (44 years), 23 Model T touring (30 yrs), 39 Ford Deluxe tudor, 49 Mercury, 49 F-1 pickup (6 cylinder, set up to pull engine show trailer) and 68 Camaro convt. After I discovered engine shows and engine people, I quit going to cars shows.

I havent had any of the cars out except the 29 A in a long time.I have put a lot of mi. on the model A. been on a lot of club tours and been at a few steam shows with it. I remembered this thread which has found new life! It reminded me of what I have heard or been told of "Car People". I'm referring to the high end "snob" collectors. Dick says VOLUMES more in his above statement by what remains UNWRITTEN than he could ever write........
