Default Maytag oil can question

Hello, I recently got a steel 10 oz. oil can in very good condition...it says

"Maytag Lubricant for power housing model washer E-J and N-R Part no. 55968-x THE MAYTAG COMPANY Newton, Iowa U.S.A. Net contents 10 Oz."

Now my question is: Are any maytag collecters going to be interested in it? Is it for a engine? Year? Value?

Thanks for your help

I would think so. Any old Maytag can is collectable. It sounds like it had the oil for the gearbox on the washer or something of that nature. I'm no Maytag expert, maybe someone will tell you for sure.

Mac Leod, David, yes it is oil for a Maytag Wringer washer gear box. I have a model E parts catalog / service manual and that number is listed. Being in a steel can, it is probably at least 1950's or 1960's vintage. The model E, N, and J washers were the white colored ones made until the early 1980's. Milan, OH

Maybe there were repros. out but this was in a untouched basement for many years...I had to get neat stuff out before the scrap man came. It is a old one.

Heres a picture of the can. The top has light surface rust. Any idea to value?

Thanks

I have 3 quarts of matag oil in steel cans. I am also curious of a value. These cans were found in a shed that has had no activity for about 30-40 years?????
