Paul, I use Webshots to host my photos. Only downside is you need their software if you want to download the photo and extract it. I'm not sure what there limit is on storage because I haven't run into it yet. Mike

If you want to use this JUST for this site, disregard the other photo sites. Harry has made it easy for us to post a photo or two from our computer. Use the computer as a photo bank and use the BROWSE button to post a photo. I shut down my Photo Island site when he did this for us. Jim |

I'm not entirely sure about this yet. The email ip in the header says this email came from Amsterdam. Arcsoft is headquartered in Fremont, CA. They have offices in Europe as well but I can find NOTHING at the Arcsoft site OR PhotoIsland regarding a shutdown. I'm not responding to ANYTHING until I get more information. Craig

Further sluething reveals Arcsoft to have an office in Oxfordshire, England. NOTHING in the Netherlands and all their other offices are in the Far East. ALSO, per the "instructions" a "download Applet" does NOT show up. Still doing nothing till I know more.............Craig

I've tried downloading pics onto HARRY'S, directly from my 'puter, but a message always pops up saying that the image is too large & I can't figure out how to down-size my pics!

I have the same problem as Randy. Pics to post but they are too large for Harry's gallery and I cannot reduce them (or do not know how!). Luke from Oz

Randy I down size my photos when I pot them on the pc. from my digital camera at that time. But you can down size them later too. Go look at your pictures and see what size they are, 65 kb to 75 kb is a good size for me to sell on ebay. hope this helps, Paul

What operating system are you using? Our computer is running Windows XP Home and when you open a picture with "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer" it has an edit button at the bottom of the picture. It then opens with another program where you can crop and resize as well as many other options. We use "Print Shop Photo Pro". It works real well and is easy to use. That is what we use for all our pictures. Hope this helps you out some.

Hi, Thought this may help
When you want to post a picture: 1. Get pic. on computer 2. go to "post message" and click Optional Photo Uploads "Browse" 3. when you do this a screen will come up this is when you choose the picture. To keep things simple store the photo on your desktop. A list should come up with all items on your desktop, choose the one you would like. 4. Once you find the right one, in the bottom right corner choose "open". This should fill out Optional photo upload. 5. Then click "preview message". If you like what you see Post it. 6. Should the image be too large go to your desk top and right click the image. a menu will come up click Oppen with...choose paint. 7.When in paint you will have to reduce the size of the photo, to do this hit the control button and A (CTRL+A). Then go to "images" and in that menu click "stretch and skew" 8 Under stretch there will be 2 areas to change numbers, set them at 25, I say this because 25 tends to make it small enough. Then save the changes (save as...) go back to post message and repeat steps 1-5. Hope this helps Mac Leod |
