Where can I get a Ford Jubilee or 8N starter? I want to build an engine starter and that was what was suggested by a fellow Smokestacker. Thanks in advance, Lou

Any of the old Ford starters up into the 1940's should work. The shaft protrudes without an outboard bearing like the new ones, making it easy to mount some sort of friction wheel. I'd suggest one from a flathead truck engine..they were a little beefier.

Also look for golf-cart starters or boat engine starters... Most of them have the bearings on both sides of the armature ...

I think any Ford motor company vehicle built prior to 1964 would have the old type starter drive that engaged from the back side of the flywheel...Any automotive armature or starter rebuild shop should have a few of them still around.
