Default Novo Engine?

I have a 2 cylinder Novo Model YU 3 3/4 X 5 serial Number 19142. It has a Clutch and is in a housing with radiator. The Eisemann Type GS 2 mag is connected to the rear of the governor. The governor is marked with a big B cast into it's side. It looks like the previous owner had it pretty ready to run some number of years ago. I have not tried to start it but it does turn over with compression. I don't have a crank for it so I use the clutch pulley to turn it over. It has a Roller decal just visible on the rear above the clutch pulley. Does anyone have one like it or know any thing about this engine. What horsepower is it? When was it made? Are there many of these around? I will appreciate any help you can give me. Dick

Dick, I have reprints of the Parts List and Operating Instructions manual for the YU, It also covers the UF, HU, & RU Models, all of which were 2 Cyl.

The "ROLLR" NOVO's were made after 1928 and used Timken Roller Brg's on the Mains which was quite an improvement over Babbitt. I also have reproduced the 4 Color Decal for these "ROLLR" engines. I looked in the manual for the H P but I didn't find it listed.

NOVO sold most of their engines direct to the manufactuer and were used on Pumps, Aircompressors & etc. Let me know if I can be of more help.
