Default Kubota Clutch

I realize that this question is not engine related and I appologize. But you guys have not steered me wrong yet.I am replacing a clutch and pressure plate on my Kubota B7200D I am running into a problem in getting the spline from the transmission, to line up with the spline in the clutch. I was told that I need a Line Up Tool.To do the job. Are there any other ways that I could line it up without trying to hunt down a line up tool. The only clutch I am used to is on my JD-B and it is alot easier to replace than this one. Please reply here, I would like to finish this job up tonight. Thanks Guys, Smoke

If this is a single disc clutch, I make my own as there are no need for splines. I measure the I.D. of the pilot bearing and the minor diameter of the spline. I then use my lathe to make a shaft with the two diameters. I have made the shafts from aluminum and UHMW plastic. I have seen people do a quick and dirty alinment tool using a long 3/8" or 1/2" extention and tape.

If you have access to a lathe, take a hardwood dowel, and turn one end down to fit the pilot bearing, and then turn down the rest to fit the ID of the clutch disc splines.

In a pinch, I have used a piece of tubing or rod that fit the pilot bearing and carefully and evenly wrapped it with duct tape to build it up to be a snug fit in the disc.

I am not familiar with your tractor, but if there is access to the pilot bearing area once the tractor is rolled back together, and old mechanic's trick is to insert hardwood wedges between the clutch release fingers and the body of the pressure plate. This allows the lined plate to be free to aid in alignment for reassembly, and then, working through the access hole, you remove the wedges.

Another trick, if there is access to the clutch when assembled, is to just start the pressure plate-to-flywheel bolts, again allowing the lined plate to remain loose, and then tightening the pressure plate bolts after assembly of the two sections of the tractor.

Hi Kevin, I just have the standard, no hydro. After fooling with the Monkey for about 3 hours last night, I finally got it together. I was able to slide the clutch assembly on the shaft then bolt the unit ot the flywheel as suggested in one of the posts. Thanks guys for your different methods. Geez, I was almost ready to call BobRR and tell him to come and get it. Thanks Again..
