Default weird air compressor

At the local flea market today I saw a Buckeye air-compressor. It had 2 flywheels, one with a wide face for the belt, the other a regular spoke flywheel. It has a water hopper and a drip oiler. It was definitely not a converted gas engine. There was absolutely no place for ignition or mixer. Anyone have any information on this unit? It was about the size of an average 1˝ hp engine. Thanks, John

Default Re: weird air compressor

Some of the old style air compressors were made as water cooled units and look very much like an engine.
